Close-up of the reinforcing rods and galvanized panels inside an Elkstead bed

Wood rots. Plastic cracks. Steel stays.

Treated lumber leaches and sags by year three. Plastic beds go brittle in the sun. Galvanized steel is what farmers roof barns with, and it treats a garden the same way: quietly, for decades.

Every Elkstead bed uses corrugated panels with a rust-resistant baked coating, steel reinforcing rods across the span so the sides never bow, and rolled safety edges. The base is open to the ground below, so water drains and roots go deep.

  • Rust-resistant coating
  • Reinforcing rods included
  • Rolled, safe top edges
  • Open base for drainage

Flat box to first harvest.

Fair questions.

How long does shipping take?+

Orders ship free from US warehouses and typically arrive within 5 to 10 business days. You'll get tracking by email as soon as your bed ships.

Is it hard to assemble?+

No. The kit is panels, connecting plates, and screws, and work gloves are included in the box. Most people finish in about an hour with a wrench or driver.

Will it rust?+

The panels are galvanized and finished with a rust-resistant baked coating, the same protection used on metal roofing. It is built to live outside year-round.

How much soil do I need?+

The Plot holds roughly half a cubic yard. The Homestead and Back Forty are deep beds; many gardeners fill the bottom third with branches and compost, then soil on top.

What if it arrives damaged?+

Email hello@elkstead.com within 30 days and we'll replace it or refund you in full. Unused beds in original packaging can be returned within 30 days.
